Heat Pipes
Correct sizing and integration
Ensuring assembly quality and good manufacturing techniques
Defining quality and thermal performance testing from vendor
Sourcing secure domestic and international supply chains
We have successfully worked through significant milestones so you don’t have to suffer the penalty of cost and program delays when encountering these issues yourself.
Heat pipes offer thermal engineers incredibly high thermal conductivity with extremely low mass.
Heat dissipated from discrete components evaporates a working fluid within the pipe which then transports the energy at sonic speeds away from your devices.
This allows a defined system to carry significantly more power than a typical solid metal alternative.
Installed correctly, a heat pipe solution can manage the cooling of up to a 120W module with as low as 4°C delta T from heat source to a cold wall.
Poorly integrated pipes can lead to negative performance compared to alternative techniques. Incorrect design or poor manufacturing quality may prevent sufficient thermal energy reaching the working fluid, in which case your solution becomes no more than a hollow shell.
Secure Supply Chains
There’s no two ways around it, the vast majority of heat pipe products originate in the East Asia. Care should be taken with domestic vendors who advertise local supply as more often than not this is misrepresentative, and the pipe themselves are shipped from overseas.
For commercial applications this can provide benefits to cost and availability, however security critical markets such as Defence & Aerospace may require more reliable sources with full traceability.
We have done the work to identify supply chain sources in the US and UK, who can fulfil your security demand for trusted supply chains reliable locations.
